Fantastic rehearsal of The Snowman yesterday. We managed 2 complete run-throughs with me following the film on my laptop. Although we drifted by a few seconds here an there we did it and I embarrassed to say I sobbed a little at the end.

Well done everyone!

What a Saturday! Having cancelled our flash mob owing to forecast rain - disappointing but we'll try again next year - we continued work on our Christmas programme for 8th December.

We worked on White Christmas, Snowflakes, Fairytale of New York and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. After a well-deserved break we started a complete run-through of the snowman. We've not managed this since our first sigh-read of this with the film playing on my laptop and the sound running through a PA.

We had a few stops to get everyone back on track and to help our two fantastic pianists (the schools version of the Snowman relies on a pair of teachers playing a pair of pianos and without them a great deal of the music can be lost). We got a huge round of applause from the parents (sorry for running over time everyone) .

They youth orchestra followed on with two run-throughs of Walking in the Air with our chosen Choristers who will take the matinee and evenings concerts each and understudy the other in case of illness.

Finally the youth orchestra attacked Wizards in Winter and Lord of the Dance. They're pretty much performance ready on these. Bring it on!

Exeter Children’s Orchestra present The Snowman

Belmont Chapel, Exeter

On 8th December, Exeter Children’s Orchestra will be performing Devon’s only screenings of the animated film ‘The Snowman’ with live orchestral accompaniment this year.

The demand for tickets has surpassed our expectations, and both the matinee and evening performances are now sold out.

Due to continued demand, we can no longer accept requests to join a waiting list for tickets.
