Play along with recordings from the internet while you learn your parts. This page is a work in progress!
Why not give ECO a try?
Playing in a group or orchestra is what music is all about. We're always happy to welcome young musicians who would like to find out about playing in an orchestra. If you're interested in playing with Exeter Children's Orchestra, come along on any Saturday in term-time, to St. Leonard's Primary School, Exeter
You don't even have to play your instrument the first time - just come along and see what we do. You can read more here about being a member.
New ECO Feeder Group
Exeter Children's Orchestra Feeder Group
Exeter Children's Orchestra Feeder Group is a new group available to children between the age of 7 - 18 who have recently started to learn a standard orchestral instrument up to about Grade 2 standard. (Children will need to be able to read music).
The group will be directed by ECO's Flute tutor; Laura Morris, who herself started at ECO in 1986 on the recorder!
Not only does it give new starters the opportunity to play as part of a group but teaches you to follow a conductor, listen to others, counting skills; disciplines you may not put into practice in an individual music lesson.
The aim of the feeder group is to give you the confidence to play and perform together and to then move up to ECO in the future.
The group will meet every Saturday during term time, commencing 6 June 2015 at St Leonards Primary School in Exeter. 11am - 12pm. The cost will be £20 per term, however as the group will be half way through a term, it will be £10 until the end of term.
Editor's Note: Next term you will be able to pay for these sessions via paypal from this page.

Friends of ECO
ECO is funded entirely from subscriptions, donations and profits from concerts.
Subscriptions cover the Orchestra’s basic running costs, such as venue hire for rehearsals and concerts, section tutor expenses etc. We do also make a modest profit from some of our concerts.
You may be aware that we have been encouraging people to make a regular annual donation through the Devon County Council Arts Match Scheme. For the period of the scheme donations given by our supporters were matched by Devon County Council, giving a very welcome boost to our funds.
This Matched Funding scheme has now ended but through it we now have a number of people who make a regular annual donation to the work of ECO, and we would like to build on our success and improve the resources available to our young musicians.
We are asking you to consider making a regular annual donation to ECO, or if you already do this to encourage grandparents, godparents or other interested parties to do so. It does not have to be a large sum. For example, you could promise £10 per annum. Everyone who signs up to make a regular donation will become a ‘Friend of ECO’.
Money raised from the subscriptions and concerts varies depending on the size of the orchestra and the costs associated with each concert. Money pledged by ‘Friends’ provides a regular source of income enabling us to plan ahead. If you would like to help us by becoming a ‘Friend of ECO’ please get in touch using the contact form on the website.
