Brilliant start to the term with 2 new Trombonists, a Drummer and several younger members moving up from the Junior Orchestra. We had a run through of some of the new music: Happy, Pur Una Cabeza, In The Hall of The Mountain King. then the orchestra performed a couple of old favourites to our new members. How to Train Your Dragon, Beach Boys Medley and Avengers Theme. The orchestra also enjoyed a continental breakfast of croissants and pains au chocolate while they brainstormed ideas for trips, concerts, names and pieces to play.

Final rehearsal of the term in it's hot. I'm hot. They're hot.

We ran through the remainder of the pieces to check timings and some rhythmical issues we had last concert and made sure we took a couple of decent breaks to cool off.

Several of out 1st violinists were away so our 2 newest 1sts found themselves in the front row and rather nervous but they did really well and I'm very proud of them.

Looking forward to seeing you all nest week at Connaught Gardens, Sidmouth - we are setting up at 10am. don't forget PEGS, SUNSCREEN, HAT, SUNGLASSES

Not a bad rehearsal today. Some key players were missing but we managed to rehearse Empire Strikes Back (not ideal for Father's Day!!) and Tijuana Tribute making sure the taxi horn gout an outing for Tijuana Taxi.

As we prepare for our Jubilee concert at Powderham Castle (5pm Sunday 26th June) we are still in need of more members. Personally I would like to swell our Violin section by another 12 (yes, 12) members; our Trumpet section by another 6, our trombones by another 2. Add to that a couple more saxes and violas that would really make my week.

Please, if you know of any youngsters who play instruments point them in the direction of ECO and encourage them to come and see us at Powderham or at Connaught Gardens in Sidmouth on 23rd July. No crocodiles please.
