END OF SEASON CONCERT & BBQ, SIDMOUTH

8th July 2006

The day of the outing to the Connaught Bandstand at Sidmouth dawned with a spectacular thunderstorm at 6.40am. This in no way deterred hardened ECO committee members who knew from past experience that outings to Sidmouth invariably look threatening weatherwise but usually turn out fine. This visit followed the tradition perfectly. By the time everyone had arrived there was bright sunshine and we enjoyed another perfect summer day.

A photographer had been engaged to take publicity pictures of ECO in action together with individual photos. These were ready by the time we returned for rehearsals in September and were immediately snapped up (pun - sorry!) by eager parents. The outdoor concert went extremely well and we all piled down to the beach in the afternoon to cool off in the sea. Kayaks were launched, sandcastles built, games played, beach bonfires constructed, barbecues lit, wine opened, suppers eaten, stories exchanged and another ECO season ended in the company of friends in our favourite end of term location.
